Good gracious man, that's a frightening history you got! Glad to see you are trying to better your life and by the looks of things, you're right on track! I'm sure Ben is a huge help in this process, what with him riding along with you and you knowing that your changes will let you be a more active Dad for him. Looking forward to reading more of your posts and watching those pounds melt off!
Adrian I appauld your openess and honesty, your story is very moving, I wholeheartedly concur with Clive your not on your own we are all here for each other that is why this community is so great.
Even the slightly insane amongst us have been where you are now...
I have a very addictive personality, and I NEVER give up or give in....
At one point I was over 20 stones and smoked, I was an angry person with a very poor diet, The first step is the most difficult...admitting to yourself you have a problem...then changing your life..
You do NOT need to do mad mileage...I do it because I enjoy cycling :-) all you need is moderate exercise and a sensible healthy diet...
We were designed to eat natural local foods....not processed crap...snacks, sugar, lard is bad...unless you have just done 100 miles :-)

I've said it to others but this is a team game even though we mostly pedal by ourselves.
